MKCC are committed to developing the skills of Colts in the age range of 12-15years.

Youth Training Policy

This year we are running Colts teams in the Under 13 and Under 15 age groups. Only players born before 1 September 1995 will be eligible for training, and we will this year be selecting those players who will be invited to join the Colts squad to ensure that no team is oversubscribed. The first two indoor nets sessions of the winter, at 6pm on Friday 11th and Friday 18 January at Oakgrove Leisure Centre, will be open to all Colts of 12 or above who would like to train; we will take the opportunity to review both performance and commitment at these two sessions, after which we will select a Colts squad of between 25 and 30. Any Colts who just miss out on a place will of course be able to join the waiting list for any vacancies which arise in future.

The Committee realises that this new structure will disappoint our younger players, we would very much like to include under-12s, but unless more potential coaches and helpers step forward we cannot offer the level of training and support we would like for these younger members. We do, of course, welcome offers of help from parents or others associated with the Club – you do not need to an outstanding player yourself to pass on your enthusiasm and commitment to younger members, and full training can be arranged.
